GHRP-6: The Appetite King of GH Peptides
Last updated: March 2026
GHRP-6 is the strongest appetite-stimulating GHRP — a true ghrelin mimetic. Used medically for wasting conditions like HIV cachexia. Produces ~6x GH increase. 100-300mcg dose 2-3x daily.

How GHRP-6 Works
GHRP-6 is a ghrelin mimetic — it replicates the exact effects of the hunger hormone ghrelin, including the strong appetite stimulation that other GHRPs lack.
GHRP-6 most closely mirrors natural ghrelin of all the GHRPs. This means it produces the strongest appetite stimulation — ideal for wasting conditions but may be unwanted for weight management goals.
GHRP-6 stimulates GH release through the GHSR-1a receptor. Peak GH increase is approximately 6x baseline — slightly less potent than GHRP-2 but with stronger orexigenic (appetite) effects.
Like GHRP-2, GHRP-6 elevates cortisol and prolactin. Due to stronger ghrelin activity, these effects may be more pronounced. Not the 'cleanest' option if minimizing side effects is priority.
GHRP-6 has been studied for HIV/AIDS wasting syndrome and cancer cachexia. The strong appetite stimulation is a FEATURE in these conditions — patients need to eat more to maintain weight.
