For subcutaneous work most people use 29–31 gauge, 0.5 inch insulin syringes. For bacteriostatic water, look for sealed, in-date vials with 0.9% benzyl alcohol as the preservative and, from research vendors, a certificate of analysis. Buy sterile, single-use consumables only — never reuse needles.

Are peptide-vendor supplies as safe as pharmacy supplies?

Syringes and prep pads are the same regardless of source. The compounds themselves are different: peptides sold as research chemicals are not FDA-approved for human use.
