Should you pay cash or use insurance for Wegovy?

It depends on your plan. With commercial insurance, NovoCare says its savings offer can bring the cost down to as little as $25 a month, subject to a $100 monthly maximum savings, and government beneficiaries are excluded. If you self-pay instead, NovoCare warns that the money you spend does not count toward your out-of-pocket limit or deductible.

Ask your insurer whether Wegovy is covered and what prior authorization it needs before you choose. If it is not covered, the self-pay prices above are the manufacturer’s published cash route.
